One day, while lost in darkness, I first heard Your Name:
I AM, the Eternal, age to age forever the same.
One day I saw Your glory, like that mighty throng
On the glassy sea, singing Moses' ancient song.
I longed to be filled with a love that knew no bound.
You gave me such gladness; what joy I found!
My soul yearned and fainted for the temple of my Lord;
My heart and my flesh cried out for God.
One day I fell before You and inclined my ear.
You were my desire; Yours, the only voice I would hear.
You called me, betrothed me, to be Your faithful bride,
To be in Your presence; Lord, here am I!
One day the trump will sound, from heaven You'll descend;
Rising, I shall meet You, with You for all time without end.
You'll bring me, invite me, into Your banquet house,
Beneath Your great banner, beneath Your love.
